Julep Membership Review

I paid 2.99 to cover shipping for what I believed to be a freebie. The following month I was enrolled to receive monthly boxes and my credit card was being charged, for boxes of cosmetics never received. Customer service is non existent. No one answers phones or e-mails. It's impossible to cancel membership.

Online Cancellation Review

Tried to cancel online but that was not an option and they have my credit card. Called to cancel waiting on the phone for 25 minutes no one ever came to the phone. While I was waiting I listen to the same message over & over talking about how great the product is well actually it's not!

WORST SERVICE EVER

Where should I even start. I guess they say it's true not everything in life is free. Signing up for this piece of *** proves it. I've been trying to cancel for days now!! Yep DAYS. I regret signing up the polishes are *** and the service even more. Currently hearing their *** voice service while on hold. It's been half an hour so far and i'll probably get to no where like the last days. I simply can't anymore I'm beyond pissed. Save yourself your money and don't get involved with these *** holes. You've been warned save yourself the hassle

Worst customer service ever, and its a rip off

I joined Julep as a maven the end of December 2013. In those 7 weeks I placed orders totaling $165.00. My last order sat at the post office in Texas, 5 hours from where I live from the 7th till the 14th. I already called Julep and both times the customer service was horrible. I called the post office, they point fingers at each other but still my order that I paid for on the 4th has not arrived. The date again has been changed on their estimated "delivery date" order calendar from the 11th to the 17th pushing it to the latest business day and missing the valentine date that my husband had gotten this polish for me. You would think they would offer a coupon for a discount on next purchase or free 3 day shipping on the next order but instead they are rude, could care less about keeping a loyal customer. Its a word of mouth, girlfriend recommended business. I would never recommend Julep after this. My introductory box, one polish already had the swatch painted on top, and both colors were thick, meaning old and already used and returned. I ignored that thinking it was a fluke, it wasn't. The polishes are already half the size of most polishes, so the sales are not really sales. I got this because I thought it would be fun but they have taken all the fun out of it. I will be canceling my membership and buy Sephora's new nail colors. It's a better deal. I can see it, I can also easily return it if It doesn't look good on. It also stays on longer without chipping off. Bottom line I am extremely disappointed with Julep and lack of customer service which both reps were rude. For girl friend powered, the "girl friends" on the phone line were the worst. Save yourself time, aggravation and get your polish, same price, twice the amount at a store ie. OPI, Essie, Sephora X, etc. and you chose individual color preference not a set. Also the new bty product of Juleps are highly disappointing, the only product I like they never have is the hand scrub and its never in stock. Twenty dollars a month for a box with 2 small polishes and a unproven, usually cheap, properly packaged bty product is not a good deal. This business's products no longer sell themselves and the small time feel of girl power, small business, great service no longer exists. I'm angry that I spent as much as I did on them. I will be removing from pinterest, I will not advertise a business that treat's loyal customers so poorly when their whole slogan claims to be based on rewarding loyalty. As for holding onto the package for 7 days (original estimate delivery date was the 10th), changing dates, pushing it out to the last "business days" turning 10 days max to 14 days maybe (changing the date to the 17th) They took my money 2 weeks ago, and once received they care nothing about customer service. I think the goal is to get you to pay for faster shipping. At least at a store I get my product the same day they take my money. Maven membership is not the fun girly box in the mail I thought it would be. I will go back to Sephora or Ulta, walmart for my polish and get the quality bty products I'm used to from sephora, the same day I pay for it, with freedom to chose the exact colors I want whether its eye shadow or polish. If I want to send a gift to a girl friend or family member , it will be a gift card, without the frustration I feel now. I don't want them treating friends or family members the way they treated me. Goodbye and good riddance julep.

Horrible Customer Service

Julep Beauty nail polish is a mediocre product, the colors are nice but the quality of the product is the same as the nail polish you would buy at the grocery store for a lot less. The only thing worse than the quality of their product is their customer service. You can expect a 15 to 20 minute wait when calling to cancel the subscription. After I called to cancel and the charge for the second box that I have not received was removed from my account, I realized that the next day they recharged me again. After speaking to customer service for the second time they informed me that they could not remove the charge even though I have not receive this box. My julep account order states that I have not ordered another box but they are still refusing to refund the amount.

Free Box Review

I signed up to get my free box about 4 months ago. Never thought anything of it until recently. Kept getting emails and calls that I need to update my payment info. Since I don't use my card very often, (it is an online and small bill card only) I didn't worry about it. I added money to my card to pay a bill and here comes julep charging my account without authorization and now I am I able to pay my bill. I called and emailed them today asking to cancel my account and refund my money to my card. I am not sure what can be done if they don't, but charging someone's card without permission is not right at all!!!

Didn't cancel my account after I called and then charged me.

I called on May 9th requesting to cancel my account as I found the products not very high quality. I found a charge for the next box on my card this morning. Called them again to see what happened. I was told that since I couldn't give them a name of who I spoke with and they don't show anyone accessing my account I can return the box but will be charged the return fee. I can show phone records that list a 4 minute call to them on May 9th! Completely unhappy with their customer service and feeling like she was calling me a liar.

Screwed over long term customer

Had been a loyal Julep Maven customer for over a year, spent $20 to $100 a month on their products. I did not get an email this month for updating whether or not to ship the box, and editing its contents, they charged my card anyway. I called today when I saw a charge this morning to my checking account, and although it has not even shipped yet, they refused refund me, even if returned to sender. They said their emails sometimes don't get sent out and I need to memorize the dates. Filed visa dispute & Better Business Bureau complaint.

Horrible Subscription Policy

Ordered my first box to try it out and received it a few days later on the 23rd. However, when I went to cancel my second box (because I decided I couldn't afford it) I found out that I had already been charged for the second box. Apparently their policy is that you have to cancel your subscription by the 24th of every month. This is ridiculous considering I didn't even receive my first box until the 23rd, five days after I had placed the order. When I called to have them remove the charge and not send the second box they informed me that they couldn't because it had already been processed. Such ***. They should at least give you a month from the day you ordered, especially if it's the first time getting the product. How the *** am I supposed to decide I want something within a day of getting it. Also it was the holiday weekend and so I was unable to call and cancel by the 24th even if I had known about the policy. Will NEVER be ordering from them again.

Horrendous Policy

I signed up with my email, but apparently misspelled something. As a result, I didn't receive my email about the next package. I tried to log on to cancel but no account was found. Then I was charged. I had no idea that I would even be charged so I called. They told me that I couldn't cancel and that the package would ship soon. Then, a week later I still hadn't received the box. They said I couldn't get my money back because it had already shipped, which was a lie. I also can't return it for a refund. What a policy! Outrageous.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

After reading here, I can see that Julep is an awful company. I had changed my credit card recently and alothough that happened, Julep was able to charge my bank account. I tried contacting customer service through email and they never responded. When I called, a rude *** told me that they did not accept refunds. I was not aware, like I have see on many reviews, that it was a monthly subscription and you had to cancel it between a certain time period. Luckily, when the transaction was made, it was still pending on my bank account so I called my banker and told them I never gave authorization to Julep. I was able to get my $23 back, but unluckily I had to change my bank account number so Julep will never charge me again. Don't trust Julep. Its absurd that they don't accept refunds and PLEASE improve your customer service. It was ridiculous how awful it was and the girl was making the cancellation process a hassle.

It is definetely NOT her fault. She signed up for what looked like a promising subscription, didn't want it anymore and had to deal with *** customer service!

I'm sure you would expect atleast DECENT customer service from ANY company.

She shouldn't have to go online and read about julep and their customer service because you know what? A GOOD company would provide exceptional customer service and exquisite products so their customers wouldn't have to write complaints!

Cannot cancel, bad customer service

I signed up for a trial box and forgot to cancel after my first box. I've been trying to cancel for a month now with no success. I have left several Voicemails and even tried emailing. This is the worst customer service I've ever had, or even heard of. I'm sure this is illegal and I want to report this to the attorney general of Texas consumer affairs. Luckily I have my logs and attempts to prove I've tried. I'm working on disputing my charges with my bank. DO NOT SIGN UP, you'll be trapped!!! Not sure what else to say to make it a 100 words.

Scammed...double billed and worst customer service

I had to cancel because I started getting double charged and was not receiving my orders. Not to mention that this company has the Worst Customer Support I have ever dealt with. I was offered a refund minus $4.95 processing fee (which isn't acceptable either but I would deal with it) after filing a lost package report with USPS. I was not emailed the information to file that claim and now customer support is saying that I was not offered a refund they will only reship or give a credit. However, neither of these options are okay with me. Who wants Halloween colors in mid November? And who wants two of the same box because some account was set up with my information? Furthermore, who would want a credit or more boxes from a company who scammed them out of $70.98. I loved the nail polish and would have continued being a Maven if I wasn't treated so poorly by customer service. I work in customer service and if I ever accused a customer of lying about a solution that was offered by another representative I would be out of a job real fast. I am appalled at how I have been treated and will be reviewing this information with as many people as humanly possible so no one else has to get ripped off by this company. Continually, I will be following up with the BBB to see if there is any further actions that can be taken against this company. I work hard for very little money and as far as I am concerned offering a refund and then revoking that offer was the breaking point with this company. There was a chance to keep my business but it was lost. It should not take two weeks to resolve this issue. And the fact that a supervisor is not available every time I call is absurd. This company needs to learn how to meet the needs of its customers. Based on the reviews I have read I am not the only one who feels this way.
